This year, as Baker Design Group celebrates twenty years in business, we’re celebrating something just as meaningful within our own walls. Lisa Floyd, our Director of Interior Design, is marking fifteen years with BDG, which means she has spent three quarters of the company’s entire history building alongside us. From her earliest days on a very small team to the leadership role she holds today, Lisa’s story is woven into everything BDG has become.

What She Means to Us
Ask anyone who has worked alongside Lisa, and the same words tend to come up: warm, dedicated, unforgettable. She has a rare ability to make everyone around her, from clients to teammates, feel genuinely seen. That gift, paired with her talent and her drive, has left a lasting mark on this company and everyone lucky enough to work beside her.
“Happy 15 years, Lisa! You have given so much of yourself, not just to BDG, but to every client you’ve worked with along the way. You have a gift for making people feel heard, seen, and truly special, in every interaction. Your creative eye is incredible, from the first strokes of paint to the final details that pull a room together, you bring each client’s vision to life exactly as they imagined it. I count it among the greatest blessings of my life to have worked alongside you, both professionally and personally. I am endlessly grateful that God placed you in my path all these years ago. Thank you for everything you have poured into BDG, and into me, over the years. I will forever be grateful for your life and your friendship. With love and gratitude,”- Heather Mattox, Vice President
Around the office, she’s earned a nickname that says it all, and it fits her perfectly.
“Hard working, fiercely loyal, and deeply loved by clients and colleagues alike, Lisa brings an unmatched warmth to Baker Design Group. We call her ‘Lisa Sparkles’ because she has a rare gift for sprinkling joy, fun, and dedication wherever she goes.”
Kay Ainsworth, Interior Designer
Where It All Began
Lisa’s path to BDG started well before she ever walked through our doors. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Baylor University, she sharpened her craft through an internship with Dallas designer Denise McGaha, freelance work in San Antonio, and even award winning stage backdrop design back at Baylor. Her rendering skills and her gift for presenting beautiful hand drawn concepts to clients set her apart early on.
Lisa joined Baker Design Group in 2011, at a point when the company was still very small and just finding its footing. Stepping into a growing office, she brought the same fast paced energy and creative eye that had defined her career so far, and she quickly became a vital part of the team Linda Baker was building.
“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Lisa for fourteen years, and we’ve shared so many milestones, both professionally and personally. One of the things I’ve always admired most is her ability to connect with people. She has a genuine empathy that makes everyone around her feel heard, valued, and supported. Combined with her incredible talent and dedication, she’s had such a lasting impact on our team, our clients, and everyone lucky enough to work with her. I’m truly grateful to have spent so many years learning from her and calling her both a colleague and a friend.”- Jessica Warren, Senior Interior Designer
Where She Is Today
Fifteen years later, Lisa now serves as Director of Interior Design, overseeing a team of three designers and playing a defining role in the direction of the company. Her fingerprints are on countless decisions and contributions that have shaped BDG into what it is today, from mentoring the designers she now leads to helping guide the creative standards the design group is known for.

Her Mark on Interior Design
Over her career, Lisa has built a reputation as one of Dallas’s most accomplished interior designers. She took home the ASID DesignOvation First Place Award for Emerging Designer in 2012, and in 2018 she received the ASID Robert Preston Henry Emerging Legacy Award. She has served on both the IDS and ASID boards, including two years as Chair of ASID Dallas/Fort Worth. She has been named a D Home Best Designer multiple years running, and Designers Today included her on its 40 Under 40 list of top designers. Alongside these individual honors, she has led and contributed to numerous local and national award winning projects throughout her time at BDG.

Beyond BDG
When she’s not designing, Lisa treasures time with her husband, who supports his outgoing and strong willed wife, and their perfect five year old son, Byron. She’s active in her church, loves singing, and happily takes on the role of soccer mom. She finds joy in celebrating the people around her and in painting anything her brushes will let her touch. Whether it’s for her family and friends or for her clients and their spaces, Lisa loves creating moments that matter. Outside of that, she’s a self proclaimed FRIENDS and Father of the Bride expert, a black iced coffee and popcorn devotee, an audiobook lover, and someone who will never say no to a glass of bubbly or a good photo op.

A Heartfelt Thank You
Fifteen years is not a small thing. It is thousands of client meetings, countless late nights over renderings, and a decade and a half of showing up for this team and this craft. Today, we simply want to say thank you.
“It’s hard to put into just a few words what Lisa means to BDG and to me personally. Over the years, I’ve learned so much from her, not just about design, but about navigating this crazy industry and everything that comes with it. I’m so thankful for all the laughs, advice, and memories we’ve shared along the way. She’s much more than a coworker, and I feel incredibly lucky to have worked alongside her for so many years. BDG truly wouldn’t be the same without her.”
Amanda Tarango, Interior Designer
To Lisa, thank you for fifteen years of talent, heart, and Lisa Sparkles energy. Baker Design Group would not be the same without you, and we cannot wait to see what the next chapter holds.
