Acrylic, Lucite and glass accents have been on the move for a while now, but we are seeing more and more creative integration of these materials into any and every element of design. Hardware, lighting, legs, and supports all the way to full on edgy shapes of seating and upholstery. This colorless material is versatile, modern and classic at the same time, and adding some serious punch to design.
While blue is still trending across style preferences, emeralds and olive greens are creeping into the scene with more and more presence. From upholstery to accessories to case goods and lighting, this deep jewel tone is contrasting the ever trending neutrals and bringing it’s own forest-y force to be reckoned with.
Case goods and accents are all desperate for inventive materials and new shapes. The market is answering with streamlined shapes being dressed to the nines with literal artwork clad surfaces. Accent tables and chests, large credenzas and even beds are bringing their own punch of artistry beyond the expected woods and metals. We are loving seeing the neutrals, but color is also splashing across case goods to bring a punch to any space and start a conversation.
In other artistic ventures, casegood manufacturers are continuing to respond to the designers, especially our own Dallas Designers desire for unique hardware. The jewelry of any piece, often a selling point on special flair, and a perfect way to mix metals, textures and different materials, hardware is bigger, badder and more artistic than ever!
Age of convenience continues to influence design and products are continuing to show off their own ingenuity. Never underestimate a desk, chair, lamp, chest or even nightstand! Hidden compartments reveal charging stations with both outlet and USB ports to service any phones, watches and all things smart. Even recliners and tilt backs over concealed technology for smoother operation and user friendly comfort.
We are NOT blue over the raging waters of every shade of blue over all the surfaces possible. Textiles, casegoods, artwork and accessories are offering vibrant and deep saturations of the soothing hue. Punch a design up or bring a calming softness, blue is around to stay and be used however needed! We loved seeing its vibrancy show up time and time again on case goods from glass to shagreen to wood.
We have seen so much that we like that we are having trouble choosing what our favorite would be!
