Our fabulous Dallas Designers recently returned from High Point’s Spring Market and are bursting with creative inspiration after their trip! We’ve had our designers sit down with us and tell us a few of the trends they are seeing! Take a look at some of Dallas Designers favorite finds at Market!
Art isn’t just for the walls and your side chairs don’t just have to have fabrics of interest. Our Senior Designer, Lisa Floyd said “Wood and metal framing around side chairs is becoming more and more artistically interesting. Float-able pieces, in general, offer a wider appeal as they can be placed anywhere in the room without fear of one side or back being less interesting or displeasing for the eye. Any upholstery and case goods that look good from all sides, bring a versatility and style these designers love!”
Emerald has been emerging from the sea of grays and blues for the last couple seasons. The rich hue of green is being partnered with navy, gold, and black and white, which remain strong palettes.
Burgundy, wine, merlot type jewel tones are also bringing bold contrast to soft blush and ivory and even vibrant marigold. Rich jewel tones and soft pastels are both strongly used palettes. Either way you go, color is strong.
Our Dallas Designers mentioned mixed metal tones still being hot hot hot. We are continuing to see more and more gold, brass and rose gold emerge. While mixing the silver and gold to balance cool and warm tones is still popular, the warmer brassy and golden finishes and accents are taking a design lead in lighting, furniture details, and accessories.
Decorative hardware is always one of our favorite parts of Highpoint design market. Credenzas, nightstands, chests, tables, back of chairs, you name it and there is decorative hardware jewelry to be had!
We love seeing more companies emerge with custom order hardware to truly add the design glitz, as well as character and interest to any custom pieces. Colors, texture and inventive materials are popping up on drawers and doors across the market to continually keep up with a desire for interest! Acrylic is present but slowing down in comparison to natural stones and minerals of all colors.
The rustic inspired textile is seen in modern, transitional, and traditional uses on upholstery, case goods, hardware and accessories. Rug lines continue to bring on the hide in every design pattern thinkable. Even poly rugs are being introduced to LOOK just like hair on hide, allowing inclusion in spaces of all sorts and uses.
