Believe it or not, the end of the year is approaching and we are wrapping up 2013! This is year has brought back some new interior design trends that have been updated from back in their design days.
We have seen metallic become the star of the show but now the addition of brass, golds and coppers will begin to steal the show in the interior design world. Elle décor notes that brass has “rich gleam and sculptural weight.” The implementation of metallic and now the addition of brass and gold metals are easy and rather affordable to implement in your simple residential space.
Design Sponge talks about classic metallics like brass and copper never going out of style, yet has a modern touch that can be breathtaking in accents like pendants, chandeliers, accessories, small tables and chairs.
The designers at Baker Design Group love the idea of using more brass, golds and coppers in the interior design plans. Our designer Lisa was asked if she gets concerned about this being a short lived trend. She explained it as being just the same as using oil rubbed bronze and brushed nickel. Everything will have it’s time but it won’t be anymore short lived than any other design trends. Jessica, an interior designer at Baker Design Group said the key is to not over use one type of metal, accenting is key.
