Seasons and Change – 2013 Fall Design Trends

As I sit here and write, I feel the excitement of the seasons changing.  My oldest daughter was sent back to school last week and I just arrived home from sending my middle daughter to pre-k today.  Don’t you just love seasons?  I know we all have our favorites but isn’t it nice to always have a new season to look forward to?  It’s amazing to think about how our creator God knew we would need change.  Change is refreshing and exciting and I am beyond ready to jump into this Fall.  I now feel I can start to officially think about the fall season, I only wish the weather would decide to join me.

With the weather change that defines a season, it’s always the design changes that occur that bring excitement to the time of the year.  This year’s fall trends are much the same that we have seen in spring 2013 but are making even bigger statements.  Leather still has an appearance although it might not be the black leather you have stashed in your coat closet but more color leather and Emerald Green is still hotter than ever.  Boots are as high as the sky and lace is present in our interiors and clothing closets.  Winter white, velvets and plaids are expected to make a bigger presence as well.

As far as 2013 fall interior design goes, brass is back!  Yup it has been coming for awhile but this fall it is going to be hot in the interior design world.  Emerald and all greens are making huge appearances along with the continued growth on embellished walls.  We have seen wallpapers arrival back in the design world but we will begin to see more and more embellishments.  Bold, saturated hues and lacquer are also bigger than ever.
