For the first time, Baker Design Group has made the journey to the mecca design land: High Point Market. If you follow us on any of the many social media networks, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, you were probably bombarded with picture after picture of vignettes, new product and inspiration everywhere. It cannot even come close to communicating the overwhelming grandness of the “furniture city” which is High Point, North Carolina.
City blocks of trade centers, showcase buildings, showrooms and furniture lines tower over each other in sometimes unsuspecting plain structures and sometimes extravagant architectural genius. Inside these walls, these two designers were taken to a dreamland of anything our hearts desired.
We were able to explore furniture lines that we specify on a regular basis and become acquainted with more of the feel, the sit, and the custom options available. New introductions of fabrics and frames dotted these vignettes of color and trend in each showroom and really got our thinkers moving. In addition to lines we already specify from, we were introduced to others who had caught our attention that will now add to our repertoire of product we specify from. Vendors and sales reps were of course eager to share their products and the quality and stand behind what they were showing. Details, coloring, and every little finish detail were examined as we meticulously decided on these new lines and explored the newest trends and beauty of everything from rugs to case goods, accessories to upholstered furniture, lighting, and so much more.
Three full days of walking, exploring, testing and generally finding our groove with a whole new world was quite taxing but we’re excited to start to share with you some of the awesome finds. Get excited to…
