We are excited to announce our most recent Press Release: Released 8-25-2015
Baker Design Group was recognized with an unprecedented number of honors in one ceremony, including a never-before-awarded perfect category score at the 2015 Legacy of Design Awards this month. Celebrating a banner evening, the distinguished Dallas interior design firm won seven ASID awards that honor outstanding members of the design community and recognize the finest and most innovative achievements in interior design.
Led by Owner and Principle Designer Linda Baker, Baker Design Group won six first place awards and one second place award in seven different categories. Their design style incorporates custom lines of furniture, wall coverings, lighting and unique mixed media, making a significant impact on increasing the standards of design throughout the industry.
Earning a perfect 1000-point score in the Transitional Dining Space category, a first-time feat for the event, the modern, monochromatic dining room that BDG designed for the Thomas residence features bold geometrics, sharp contrasting neutrals with vivid sparks of metallic, a statement area rug and an impressive focal niche with custom artwork.
“Creative and design visionaries, Linda and the interior design team are nothing less than exceptional. They work to learn about you as a person, your family and your home so they can bring to life the things you can only imagine,” said Aimee Thomas, who has been a BDG client for seven years. “With the highest level of integrity, trust and respect, this team delivers beyond expectations every time.”
Also featured in the open floorplan of the Thomas residence, BDG’s winning Contemporary Living Area was designed to flow into the dining area for a show-stopping entertainment space. A balanced floorplan boasts rich velvets, luxe textures, bold patterns and a swanky mix of glistening metallic accents, all in a modern gray-on-gray palette.
The winning Traditional Living Area BDG created for the Frankel residence blends warm textures, a mix of heights, and wood and glass surfaces to create a comfortable yet formal setting. The formal entertaining setting features cozy and functional seating with window treatments and custom artwork tailored to grand scale of the space.
“When my family moved into a much larger home and needed help decorating and putting things together, Linda was the natural choice,” Tanya Frankel said. “She took everything we said into consideration and stayed within budget and timing. She made our dream house a dream home by making it warm and inviting.”
For BDG, the showering of Legacy of Design Awards affirms that Baker’s contributions to the design industry truly are living up to the firm’s motto of “changing the way you live and work.”
“I love when our clients are at a loss for words because they never imagined this would be their very own space,” Baker said. “I am grateful to be validated by the industry in such a profound way making it all the more special to myself and Baker Design Group.”
The noteworthy impact of Baker’s leadership is not limited to the ASID design community. Baker is also an active professional member of the Interior Design Society and is directing the upcoming 2015 IDS Resource and Design Expo. Partnered with the Dallas World Trade Center, the reinvented vendor showcase offers an opportunity for IDS industry partners to show off their lines while exposing designers to new resources, products and industry relationships. With a visit from celebrity designer DANN Foley, a new “Out of the Box Design Challenge,” and an expanded showroom with vendor booths, the October expo promises to be a highly-attended, premiere event.
A well-rounded dallas design firm bursting with specialized talents, BDG has also gained national recognition for its exceptional Christmas design brand which led to establishing BDG’s own Division offering celebrated holiday décor that has graced luxury venues across the US. Most recently, BDG has collaborated with internationally-acclaimed mechanical genius Lou Nasti on a spectacular Christmas design for Rising Star Casino and Resort that will transform the hotel and the riverboat casino into a whimsical winter wonderland sure to dazzle and delight holiday visitors.
Having already won four awards this year at the ASID 2015 Design Ovation Awards, their record-breaking performance of seven awards at the 2015 ASID Legacy Awards confirms BDG’s continued rise in the industry. With her progressive designs and business acumen, under Baker’s leadership, BDG is definitely building a solid reputation in the interior design industry.
