The 2017 Pantone Color of the Year was announced earlier today; Our designers think you’ll see Greenery quite a bit this year if you keep your eyes out for it! Pantone says this about why they choose a color each year:
A symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.
What an interesting thought! Leatrice Eiseman of Pantone went on to say that “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape…Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalize, and unite, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose.”
These Dallas Designers usually see this yearly chosen color represented from the runways to interior design. Last year, a combination of a rosy pink and periwinkle blue were chosen, Rose Quartz and Serenity, which represented hope and change.
Will seeing Greenery in magazines, advertising, and fashion make you feel inspired and rejuvenated this year? We’re taking a poll at the office to hear the opinions on if anyone will show up to work wearing this brave hue, but we can’t say we disagree with the positive thoughts behind the choice of this Spring-like color.
