Our goal for an entry way is for it to give a glimpse of the overall style of your home. Oftentimes, the entryways of our Dallas clients are adjacent to a dining area. We like to design the two rooms to flow seamlessly together, while still making the entryway defined. Welcome guests into the overall style of your home by giving them a sneak peak into the other rooms. We love how the dining room art gets to be appreciated twice; once when in the entryway through its reflection, and once in the actual dining room. This carries over color themes and adds pattern and life to a simpler, neutral entry.
PS- It is practical to have a mirror to give yourself a once over before you head out the door! Lipstick smeared? Salad in Smile? Check!
2. Lighten It Up!
We chose this pair of lamps to illuminate the entryway. Adding mirrors also gives the area an illusion of even more reflected light!
3. Have a Unique Piece or an Item With History? Put it on Display to Make a Stylish First Impression
We’ll tell you more about the custom rotunda table with its glass center and tree trunk base below. Every time the homeowners enter or welcome guests in, they get to see one of their favorite pieces. What a great conversation starter! If you’re working with a smaller space, you could incorporate an art piece, a meaningful book for your credenza, or a sculptural object with family significance styled onto your table. The options are endless and one-of-a-kind to you and your family’s Dallas home.
4. Weave in Color and Design from Adjoining Rooms
We worked with an artist in the Pacific Northwest to have this Rotunda Table custom built to complement the custom dining table. Both made the long journey to Frisco, TX for this full interior design! The homeowners had fallen in love with this craftsman’s work, so we incorporated his designs in both entryway and dining room. The two spaces now naturally flow together, emphasizing a more open floor plan.
5. Add a Rug Larger than A Welcome Mat
A larger rug like pictured above (photo Credit: Luxe Magazine) pulls your visitors into the home visually. If your entry way is a more enclosed, smaller space, placing a 4×6 or 3.5×5 horizontally can still do the trick.
5. Update Lackluster Lighting Fixtures with Something That Sets your Style Tone
