Dallas Interior Designer Lisa Sorenson developed her passion for design at a young age with a perfectionist eye and a constant craving for all things creative. She took that passion to Waco, Texas where she attended Baylor University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. The four year, accredited program developed her knowledge on materials and finishes, skills in various computer drafting programs, abilities to sketch and render as well as her unique design perspective. She was also able to actively participate in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), serving as Co-President, and carrying that involvement into postgraduate experience. Interning with Dallas designer Denise McGaha at her firm, Lisa’s love for the fast paced, ever-changing field of design grew immensely along with her skill set as she was able to use her strong presentation skills with client meetings and especially her rendering skills, presenting beautiful hand drawings with each new project. Spending a year in San Antonio after graduation, she established her own client base, working with everything from residential interiors to stage set and backdrop design for Baylor University, for which she has won People’s Choice Award: “Best Backdrop”. Her experience even reaches to commercial Christmas design and décor, being awarded the opportunity to design and install the Christmas decorations for Baylor University’s Student Union. Lisa is currently published bi-monthly as the design contributor to a new digital magazine focusing on the culture and the arts, called Bleep Magazine. Lisa feels right at home to be back in Dallas, bringing professional design ideas to Baker Design Group with a fresh, innovative, artistic design eye.
