We built this kitchen around a wall of rose pink tile, laid in a bold geometric block pattern that turns the range into the room’s obvious star, then let white cabinetry rise floor to ceiling around it so the color had room to breathe.
What we enjoyed most was treating the cabinetry itself like jewelry. Glass fronts became small display cases, filled one piece at a time with pink ginger jars, yellow glass, and the kind of collected objects that make a kitchen look gathered over years rather than installed in a season. Even the barstools got in on it, each one carved like a scalloped shell and finished in a soft, dusty blue that plays perfectly against all that pink.
Brass hardware carries through every drawer and cabinet pull, the same warm finish repeated in the gooseneck faucet at the farmhouse sink and the knobs on the professional range. Glass front cabinets hold a curated collection of color: pink ginger jars, citrine glass, and a small ceramic menagerie that includes a spotted cat and a pair of brass leopards standing guard over the counter. At the island, barstools carved into a soft scalloped silhouette are upholstered in dusty blue, their legs finished in brass caps that echo the hardware throughout the room. A floral runner rug adds one more layer of pattern underfoot, while a blush pink door with a delicate arched panel leads out toward the rest of the home.
Playful in its palette and exacting in its detail, it’s a room built to be gathered in, not just cooked in, pink tile and all.
