Best Interior Designers Dallas 2016, Lisa Sorenson
Design item to splurge on: Lighting. Invest in statement overhead fixtures and artistic accent lighting to truly show off your design.
Design item to go frugal: Accent art pieces. Get creative with less costly ready-made art pieces of all mediums to create an expensive look on a budget.
Throw pillows- to chop or not to chop: A solid fluff and a light chop will get the job done!
Fabric you’re loving: Robert Allen’s Lush Wave in color Mica…perfect mix of warm, cool, and luxe!
Favorite iconic chair: The Eames Chair. Somehow, Charles and Ray managed a timeless edge in a leather upholstery and wood combo that still makes my designer heart race.
Favorite coffee table tome: Anything of personal interest with a conversation sparking cover.
Paint color you’re into: Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray (SW7044). Is it gray? It is taupe? Let your home decide.
Favorite spring bloom: Tulips have been a favorite since I first saw the gardens at Keukenhof, Amsterdam, as a little girl.
Favorite way to make an impression: Creative window treatments with unpredictable hardware.
Always have on hand: PaperMate Flair Medium felt tip pens. Have. Them. Everywhere.
Go-to appetizer: Oven Roasted Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus and Sweet Potato Bundles.
Home fragrance: Nothing smells as great as a clean home with fresh flowers.
Vacation spot/ city: New York City is a home away from home for me and I try to go at least annually. New Orleans is another favorite.
Go-to local lunch spot: HG SPLY CO
Design/rule signature: Mix unexpected art pieces and mirrors for collected looks that make big statements.
Music: I’m a human jukebox and love almost every spectrum of music.
Artist: Blakely Bering
Black and white or color: Bring on the color! Though I do wear a lot of black.
Favorite design period: Art Deco…the geometric patterns laced with metallic are timeless. The 60’s MadMen-esque mid-century would be a close second.
Design pet peeve: Scale ignorance; Beautiful pieces only create beautiful design when they relate to each other properly as a whole.
De-Stresser: Cooking for just myself or for others. My time in the kitchen is priceless to me.
On a Saturday night, I _____: Try a new dinner spot with friends and go out dancing or catch a movie.
Best advice: “Will it matter 10 years from now?” passed from my grandma to my mom to me…puts perspective into every situation.
Dream celebrity collaboration: Adolescent Lisa is dying to say Candice Olson. She’s down to earth, talented, and spunky.
Favorite local dish: Kozy Kitchen “Bowl of Doom” (ask the waiter)
Favorite local spot for inspiration: The Dallas Global Views Showroom
Favorite china pattern: Currently loving the Ikat Thistle pattern from Anthropologie Home Collection
Can you tell that having Dallas Interior Designer Lisa around the office is fun? Reading her answers makes me want to see how her love for color and art deco geometric patterns are incorporated into her interior design, as well as want to secure a dinner invitation for some oven roasted prosciutto wrapped asparagus.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]
We loved seeing the span of of answers in these designer questionnaires from Linda and Lisa; while they differ in certain tastes, their passion for design is matched! We love our BDG family and are proud that two of our own got recognition as the best we know that they are![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
