Pro Tip: Picking The Right Color Palette

Keep reading for this month’s Design Spotlight, featuring our Lead Interior Designer, Jessica, and her tips for selecting the right color palette for your home and sourcing the best tile trends to bring life to your residential or commercial space.

From contemporary colors to stylish designs, shapes, and textures, learn all about the tile choices that are currently skyrocketing in popularity within the interior design industry. We hope this helps guide you to create the color palette that best suits your style, personality and lifestyle!

When choosing your color palette you want to start with contrasts, something dark paired with something light. If you wish to add a little more color and energy into your room, you might consider adding something bright. If you’re more comfortable with pale walls, look to your furnishings, accessories and rugs for added color. Our Dallas Interior Designers are experts when it comes to helping with your selections!

When picking your colors, especially the bolder ones, make sure they are crisp and the lines are clean. If your interior design style is more subtle, softer, neutral shades should be considered.

“Laurel Leaf” is Better Homes & Gardens’ first Color of the Year, and it’s a dusty green shade reminiscent of eucalyptus leaves. It follows the current trend of bringing nature indoors.

Texture is all the talk in today’s interior design trends. Traditionally, tile was always installed to be flat and right-angled. Nowadays, we’re moving away from classic applications to add more texture and character to our client’s walls and floors.

Another growing trend in 2022 is tile in geometric shapes. From triangles and parallelograms to diamonds and hexagons, take a break from the classic square and rectangular tile choices to add more variety to your interior design.

Patterned tile has been in style for quite a while now, but we’re seeing a slight move away from traditional encaustic patterns and more floral and geometric selections.
